About Recovery and Beyond

Supporting recovery, independence and life beyond injury

Recovery following major trauma or serious injury can affect every part of life. Alongside physical recovery, patients and families may face emotional challenges, financial pressures, practical difficulties and uncertainty about what comes next.

Our aim

Helping people feel supported and connected.

At Recovery & Beyond, we recognise that recovery does not stop when treatment ends.

We exist to help patients and families access the practical, emotional and specialist support they may need, from the earliest stages of care through rehabilitation, returning home and rebuilding life beyond injury.

Our aim is simple: to help people feel informed, supported and connected to the right help at the right time.

Why we exist

Bridging the gap beyond clinical care.

Recovery & Beyond is a Community Interest Company (CIC), a not-for-profit organisation created to deliver meaningful social impact.

Following serious injury, people can find themselves navigating unfamiliar systems, changing circumstances and difficult decisions. Families and carers are often affected too.

While clinical treatment and rehabilitation are vital, wider support needs can emerge throughout recovery, including emotional wellbeing, welfare and financial support, housing, practical adjustments, independence and everyday life.

Recovery & Beyond exists to help bridge that gap. By working alongside patients, families, clinicians and trusted partner organisations, we help connect people to practical and specialist support throughout recovery.

Because recovery is rarely straightforward, and no one should feel they have to navigate it alone.

Our approach

Practical, personal and partnership-led.

Recovery looks different for everyone. That is why our approach is designed to be flexible and tailored to individual needs and circumstances.

We work alongside clinical teams, charities, specialist organisations and trusted partners to help people access support including:

  • Welfare benefits and financial support
  • Emergency funding and practical assistance
  • Emotional and family support
  • Recovery and rehabilitation support
  • Housing, equipment and independent living guidance
  • Legal guidance where appropriate.

Our role is not to replace existing care or services. Our role is to help people feel supported, informed and connected throughout recovery and beyond.

Partnership

Working together

Supporting patients, families and clinicians.

Recovery & Beyond works collaboratively with clinical teams, rehabilitation providers, charities and community organisations.

We believe the best outcomes happen when support feels joined up, accessible and centred around the person and family.

Our focus

Four simple principles.

Everything we do is guided by four simple principles.

Patient and family-centred

Support tailored to the individual needs of patients and the people closest to them.

Practical and supportive

Helping people navigate real-life challenges during recovery.

Collaborative

Working alongside clinicians, charities and trusted partner organisations.

Focused on life beyond injury

Supporting confidence, independence and long-term recovery.
